VOLUME ONE - CHAPTER 22
Follow
after righteousness, and seek the LORD, but not in dark speeches. For I
look from my sanctuary, beholding your sitting down and your rising up,
the LORD is with you, your king is among you.
Consider, hear me, I take my rest, and I consider in my dwelling place.
Look on my countenance as man sees, look on the outward appearance. Surely,
were it not that I regard the presence, I would not look toward you, nor
see you. Let your eyes look right on, and let your eyelids look straight
before you. I look again toward my holy temple, look upon me. The LORD
beholds all the sons of men; shall I hide that thing which I do?
For I have born a son in his old age, a well of water. And gave him the
blessing of Abraham that you inherit the land I gave unto Abraham. The
land whereon you lie, in the dust of the earth shall all the families
of the earth be blessed. Bless the lad and let my name be named on him,
and let him grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth.
I remember my covenant with Jacob and also my covenant with Isaac, and
also my covenant with Abraham, and I remember the land. Behold, I set
the land before you, perform the word and establish to day a people. That
they love the LORD God, obey his voice, and cleave unto him: for he is
life, and the length of days. This is the land which I sware unto Abraham,
unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, saying I will give it unto your seed.
Let it be known this day that God is in his people. Be mindful always
of his covenants, the lot of your inheritance. Turn unto the LORD God,
he has returned to the remnant of you. For he remembers his holy promise,
Abraham his servant: But you are his chosen, the seed of Abraham his friend.
Doubtless you are our Father, O LORD God, our father, our redeemer; your
name is from everlasting. You perform the truth you have sworn from the
days of old. Who has heard such a thing? Who has seen such things? Shall
the earth be made to bring forth in one day? Shall a nation be born at
once?
