VOLUME ONE - CHAPTER 14
Lord
GOD, the prophets say unto them, You shall not see the sword, neither shall
you have famine; but I will give you assured peace in this place. Yea, I
will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will plant them in this land
assuredly with my whole heart and with my whole soul. That I give the ruler
of the Palace, charge over Jerusalem: for he is a faithful man who fears
God above many. The king that faithfully judges the poor his throne shall
be established for ever.
And now, O Lord GOD, you are that God and your words are true, and you
have promised this goodness unto your servant. It was a true report that
I heard in mine own land of your acts and of your wisdom. Now for a long
season, we have been without the true God, and without a teaching priest,
and without law.
Come down and speak with us from heaven, and give us right judgments,
and true laws, good statutes and commandments: A true witness delivers
souls: the LORD is the true God, the living God, and an everlasting king.
A true and faithful witness between us, even if we do not according to
all things for which the LORD God sends to us. He has not given forth
unto usury neither taken any increase, has withdrawn his hand from iniquity,
has executed true judgment between man and man.
Thus speak the LORD of hosts, saying, Execute true judgment, and show
mercy and compassion every man to his brother. Now therefore, if you have
done truly and sincerely, this day rejoice, and let him also rejoice in
you. The prophet which prophesies of peace, when the word shall come to
pass, shall the prophet be known, that the LORD has truly sent him. He
walked in my statutes, and has kept my judgments, to deal truly; he is
just, he shall surely live, says the Lord GOD.
The LORD God of heaven, which took me from my father's house and from
the land of my kindred, speaks unto me. I am not worthy of the least of
all the mercies, and of all the truth, shown unto me. The LORD, The LORD
God, is merciful and gracious, long suffering, and abundant in goodness
and truth, keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity, transgression,
and sin. I have inquired and made a search, and asked diligently; and,
behold, truth, the thing certain.
O LORD, remember now how I have walked before you in truth and with a
perfect heart, and have done good in your sight, and the good word of
the LORD which I have spoken, and grant peace and truth in my day. And
in every work that I began in the service of the house of God, I shall
seek God, walk upright, work righteousness, and speak the truth in my
heart. Lead me in your truth, and teach me, for you are the God of salvation.
All your paths are mercy and truth, and I shall keep your covenant and
your testimonies, and walk in your truth. Into your hand I commit my spirit,
for you have redeemed me, O LORD God of truth. I shall not hide your righteousness
within my heart; I shall declare your faithfulness and your salvation.
I shall not conceal your loving kindness and your truth, withhold not
your tender mercies from me, O LORD: let your loving kindness and your
truth, continually preserve me.
O send out your light and your truth, let them lead us; let them bring
us unto your holy hill, and to your tabernacles. We desire truth in the
inward parts, and in the hidden make us to know wisdom. Send from heaven
and save us, O God, send forth your mercy and your truth. Our prayer is
unto you, O LORD in an acceptable time, in the multitude of your mercy
hear us in the truth of your salvation.
Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed.
Truth shall spring out of the earth; and righteousness shall look down
from heaven. Teach us your way, O LORD and we will walk in truth: unite
our heart to fear your name. For your merciful kindness is great toward
us, take not the word of truth utterly out of our mouth, for we hope in
your judgments. Your righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, for
you have magnified your word above all named.
Let not mercy and truth forsake us, bind them about our neck, and write
them upon the table of our heart. For our mouth shall speak truth, that
we might make you know the certainty of the words of truth; that you might
answer the words of truth to them that send unto you: acceptable words
and written upright, words of truth. The living, he shall praise you,
as I this day: the father to the children shall make known your truth.
Let all nations be gathered together, and let the people be assembled:
who among them can declare this, and show us former things? Let them bring
forth their witnesses, that they may be justified: or let them hear, and
say, It is truth.
For I the LORD love judgment and I will direct their work in truth, and
I will make an everlasting covenant with them. And you shall swear, The
LORD lives, in truth, in judgment, and in righteousness; and the nations
shall bless themselves in him, and in him shall they glory. I will bring
it health and cure, and I will cure them, and will reveal unto them the
abundance of peace and truth. I will show you that which is noted in the
scripture of truth.
Hear the word of the LORD, for the LORD has a controversy with the inhabitants
of the land, because no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the
land. I will perform the truth to Jacob, the mercy to Abraham, which I
have sworn unto your fathers from the days of old. Thus says the LORD,
I am returned unto Zion, and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and
Jerusalem shall be called a city of truth; and the mountain of the LORD
of hosts the holy mountain. And I will bring them, and they shall dwell
in the midst of Jerusalem: and they shall be my people, and I will be
their God, in truth and in righteousness.
These things you shall do; speak every man the truth to his neighbor,
and execute the judgment of truth and peace in your gates. Thus says the
LORD of hosts; The fast of the fourth, and the fast of the fifth, and
the fast of the seventh, and the fast of the tenth, shall be to the house
of Judah joy and gladness, and cheerful feasts; therefore love the truth
and peace.
The law of truth was in his mouth, and iniquity was not found in his lips:
he walked with me in peace and equity, and did turn many away from iniquity.
But the hour comes, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship
the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeks such to worship
him. God a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship in spirit and
in truth. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
But now a man has told you the truth, which I have heard of God: And because
I tell the truth, you believe me not. Which of you convinces me of sin?
And if I say the truth, why do you not believe me? I am the way, the truth,
and the life: no man comes unto the Father, but by me. The Spirit of truth;
whom the world cannot receive, because it sees him not, neither knows
him: but you know him, for he dwells with you, and shall be in you.
But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father,
the Spirit of truth, which proceeds from the Father, he shall testify
of me. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you
into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall
hear, shall he speak: and he will show you things to come.
Sanctify them through your truth: your word is truth. And for their sakes
I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.
To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that
I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth hears
my voice.
Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the
leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened of sincerity
and truth. Rejoice in the truth; renounce the hidden things of dishonesty,
not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but
by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience
in the sight of God. By the word of truth, by the power of God, by the
armor of righteousness on the right hand and on the left: for we can do
nothing against the truth, but for the truth. To whom we gave place by
subjection, that the truth of the gospel might continue with you.
You did run well, who did hinder you that you should not obey the truth?
The word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom you were sealed
with the Holy Spirit of promise. If so be that you have heard him, and
have been taught by him, as the truth in faith. But we are bound to give
thanks always to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God
has from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification
of the Spirit and belief of the truth. Who will have all men to be saved,
and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
